An Ecological Study of Prose Writing since the 1990s

1990年代至今,散文队伍空前壮大,散文创作数量激增,但在散文繁荣的表象下,暴露出的却是内质的空虚和价值的失衡。其原因在于散文创作中人文精神的没落,超越情怀的丧失,导致消费化、快餐化、格式化的创作倾向,体现出外强中干的特征。当代散文惟有秉持崭新的现代意识,植根大众,深入时代,才有可能涅槃出华美灿烂的艺术精神。

Since the 1990s, the legion of prose writers has been unprecedentedly augmented and the number of prose works has increased dramatically, but the superficial flourish of prose writing has revealed emptiness in content and imbalance in values. The causes lie in the fact that in prose writing, the human spirit has declined and the passion to transcend oneself has lost, with the result that prose writing tends to be commercialized, snack-like and stereotyped, with a characteristic of being outwardly strong and inwardly feeble. Only when prose writers acquire a new modern outlook, go among the masses and have in-depth understanding of the times can a splendid artistic spirit be reborn in contemporary prose writing.
