Gravity model plays an important role in modem economic researches, and it has become a commonly used tool and method in empirical study. The paper first introduces the main forms of gravity model begin from its application in the study of economics and the society. Then, the application of gravity model is explained in detail from three angles including market analysis, investment and trade, and regional economy. Finally, the authors point out the future development of the model through research review of scholars both at home and abroad.
