The study of English and Chinese proverbs containing the names of animals is aimed at analyzing their common features and their peculiarities （such as their national characteristics） and through contrast revealing their cultural and connotative differences and factors hindering the comprehension of proverbs, we can get a better understanding of the connotation of eastern and western cultures.
