On Ye Weilian's Study on Chinese and Western Poetry

美籍华裔学者叶维廉对中西诗学提出了寻求跨中西文化共同文学规律的口号,他努力从东西方传统诗学的比较中寻找共同的"模子",以此探讨其中存在的汇通与歧异,并对中西诗歌作了同中之异和异中之同的辨析,有利于对中国传统诗歌的总体把握,值得中国学者参考借鉴。

The article makes a detailed discussion about Ye Weilian's study on Chinese and western poetry. It points out that he suggested the slogan to seek for the common literature rule across Chinese-western culture. Ye Weilian endeavored to look for a shared model through compare between Chinese and western traditional poetry in order to examine their communication and difference. His analysis on 'the difference within the sameness' and 'the sameness within the difference' in Chinese and western poetry is useful to understand Chinese traditional poetry comprehensively.
