After the Opium War, the western countries had been diffusing actively their philosophy and culture mean while conquered China militarily and politically. Modern western economy was introduced to China. Joseph Edkins,a missionary from the London Missionary Society introduced the western economy theory, based on which he analyzed systematically the Chinese economic situation. This has been affected the Chinese society at great level.
