By the general development rules of new towns, this paper sets forth a development mode of new town in which Jinshan New Town has been gradually turned into a new comprehensive city adapted to the global economic trend by absorbing in new developing elements on the basis of the historically formed new town. This mode has obvious advantages and challenges. Therefore, it is of major significance to construct and explore the style and features of Jinshan New Town.
