The modern trend of development of the compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) has been described and the affecting factors of the life and efficacy of them have also been investigated.With respect to the CFL design,manufacturing processes and new materials,a series of approaches to improve the quality of CFL have theoretically and practically been presented.
