A catalyst for γbutyrolactone production by liquid phase dehydrocyclization of 1,4butanediol was prepared from Cu(NO3)2 and Zn(NO3)2 (exact in 1∶1 mole ratio) by precipitation method. It showed a good catalytic activity for given reduction at 186 ̄204 ℃ through H2 reaction at 240 ℃. The results of XRD, IR and DTA showed that the precursor has the same component and structure, as Aurichalcite.
