0u Yangzhan is a famous Fujian literary man during Mid-Tang Dynasty and the first successful candidate of the national civil service examination held at the imperial capital in former times in the history of Fujian Province. His personal life and literary creation were closely linked to the Confucian Culture, which deeply influenced his life, his political career and his literary activities. All his tough life, he had been explaining and spreading his traditional thoughts and classic spirits of the Confucian Culture.
