The discussion was carried out on the influence of variable inoculation method on properties and microstructure of gray iron castings. The practical production validated the obvious action of furnace-front stream inoculation process on improving the graphite morphology and mechanical properties of gray iron. This showed that the improvement of inoculation method has important action on improving the microstructure and increasing the mechanical properties of gray iron castings
