摘要 相关性是情报学尤其是信息检索研究巾最基本的概念。本文总结了早期相关性研究所取得的主要进展,重点对近期相关性的理论研究(特别是相关性类型及其关系、相关性评价研究)和实证研究方面的研究成果进行评述。最后提出了作者对相关性的理解:相关性是一个不断发展的概念;它涉及以下5种类型的相关性:算法相关,主题相关(即主题性),需求相关(即针对性),情景相关,社会认知相关;不同的相关性类型对应着不同的研究阶段和研究范畴;相关性已经覆盖了情报学整个领域,成为联系情报学、图书馆学和其他相关学科的纽带和桥梁,是情报学的基本原理之一。 Relevance is one of most impartant basic concept of Information Science especially in IR. This paper summarizes the early developments of relevance research, the late theoretical relevance developments (particttlly relevance types and their relationship, relevance assessment)and central empirical relevance study. Finally puts forward author's understanding and perspective of relevance: relevance is a developing concept, which involves five relevance types: algorithmic relevance, topical relevance, pertinence, situational relevance, and socio-cognitive relevance, different type of relevance corresponding to different development stage and research field. Relevance becomes the bridge between Infrormation Science, Library Science and other disciplines, hence relevance is the basic principle of Information science.
