An Improved LEACH-ED Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks

摘要 无线传感器网络(WSN)是一种资源严重受限的网络,特别是在供能方面。因此,如何有效地使用传感器节点的能量以延长无线传感器网络的生存时间,一直是WSN研究所关注的焦点。针对特殊环境限定区域的监测应用,联合剩余能量和簇首间距离的约束提出了一种新的分簇算法LEACH-ED,有效地延长了网络的生存时间。仿真实验结果表明,与传统的LEACH算法相比,LEACH-ED能量均衡性更好,能提供更长的网络生存时间。 Wireless Sensor Networks are severely resource constrained, especially in the aspect of power supply. Thus energy efficiency is one of the most important issues and designing energy-efficient protocols is critical for prolonging the lifetime. In the monitoring application of limited area under special environment, this paper presents LEACH-ED algorithm by combining nodes' residual energy with the constraint of the distance between any two existing cluster heads. Compared with classical algorithm LEACH, the simulation results demonstrate that LEACH-ED algorithm has better energy balance and provides longer network lifetime.
