The crystal structure of a new ternary compound YA1 0.27Ge2 has been determined by X-ray powder diffraction using the Rietveld method. The ternary compound YA1 0.27Ge2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic with the CeNiSi2 structure type, space group Cmcm （No. 63）,a = 0. 411 49 （2） nm, b= 1. 629 79（7） nm,c=0. 395 22（2） nm,Z=4,Dx=6. 054 g/cm^3.
