Hubs of urban communications, which are not only anchor points of the urban traffic system, but all the more those of people＇s trip psychology, possess an important interlinkage function between travellers＂ trip activities and activities and the cognition of urban space structures. Based on the method of city imagery element analysis, this paper discusses in the concrete, starting from concern over travellers＂ trip psychology and behaviour, the objectives, functions and layout patterns of the planning for urban communications hubs.
