摘要
传统的修辞学认为隐喻是辞格,但随着认识的深入,隐喻被看作是一种认知机制。隐喻无所不在,隐喻的理解也是语言学家研究的问题。在翻译的过程中,译者对于隐喻的理解也会有所不同。文章从《红楼梦》的英译本探索不同文化背景下译者对于隐喻的理解。
Traditionally, metaphors have been regarded as figures of speech. However, as the further study of cognitive linguistics, cognitive linguists have shown that metaphors are powerful tools for our conceptualization. Metaphors exist everywhere. And linguists do research about the understanding of metaphors. In the process of translation, different translators have different understanding about metaphors. This paper focuses on the translators' understanding of metaphors in different culture background.
