散文中英汉连词对比及汉译英处理方法——张培基《英译中国现代散文选》评析

Comparison of Frequency of Conjunction Words in Essays and Its Way of Translation Based on The Selected English Version of Chinese Essays by ZHANG Pei-ji

不同文体中连词的使用是不同的。汉语的连词使用明显少于英语,略为其总量的一半;其中多使用并列连词而不是从属连词;同时,并列连词的一致情况要明显多于不一致情况;汉英的并列连词使用中相互重合的情况相对于从属连词更多。在汉译英的过程中,会采用一些手法使译文既符合译出语的特点,又保持原本的风格。

The use of conjunction words varies according to different type of writing. The result is ： the number of conjunction in English is almost the half of that in Chinese; most of them are subordinate conjunctions; the consistent use of coordinate conjunction is not much and is less than the inconsistent use; there is more identical using of coordinate conjunctions than that of subordinate conjunctions. In the process of translation, certain methods will be applied to keep a balance in style between the Chinese original essay and English target version.
