Among200residentsinShang-haiLeprosary,including145menand55womenwithameanageof61.8yearsasurveyshowedthattherewere118casesoflagophthalmos(54%),andthatoutof180eyeswithlagoph-thalmos69(3.3%)wereblind,56(31.1%)lowvision,55oneswithsomevisionand109havecorneitis(60.6%).82personshavenolagophthalmos.Of220eyeswithoutlagoph-thalmos20.5%wereblind,24.1%lowvisionand55.5%havesomevision.23of62personswithbilaterallagophthalmos(37.1%)and13of82withoutlagophthalmos(15.8%)werebi-lateralyblind.53personshaveorhadiridocy-clitis(26.5%),ofwhichsixwerebilateralyblind(11.3%).
