Since1986,skinbiopsiesof572casesofMBleprosytakenMDT,includingBB27,BL88andLL457,hanebeendoneinsuccession.MostofthemhadtakenDDSmonotherapyinonetotwoyears.BeforeMDTtheirclinicalandpathologicalmanifestationswerecoincident,withBIof2.0to6.0intheirsections.TheresultsshowedthatwhenMDTwasstoppedtheinfiltrationinalofthembe-guntoregressandbytheendofthe5thyearofthesurveilancethemostofthemshowednon-specificinflammations.
