刘基有近三十年的时间在故乡度过,刘基故乡南田与温州渊源深厚。在他一生中,他经常往来温州与家乡南田。现在温州诸县、市刘姓,奉刘基为太公,大率为刘基后代。有关刘伯温的传说、故事、诗歌、风情、民俗、童谣、民谣等,在温州大量流传。刘基是温州历史上最有影响的先哲乡贤。
