摘要
批评家往往容易在阐释的同时犯过度阐释的毛病。《新感觉派与二三十年代好莱坞电影》一文在深入分析电影对新感觉派影响的同时,却忽略了其他因素对新感觉派创作的影响,应该也属一种过度阐释。但该文的价值也正好在于其深刻地体现了现代批评的特点:文学批评是独立的创作活动,批评家可以只说自己所看到的方面。
When critics interpret something, they often tend to make the mistake of over-interpretation. The paper, Neo-Sensualist and the Hollywood Films in 1920's and 1930's, deeply analyzes movies' influences on the neo-sensualists, while neglecting other factors' effects on their creation, which is also a kind of over-interpretation. However, the value of that text consists in its deep expression of the characteristics of modem criticism, which is, literary criticism is an independent creation activity and critics may express their own viewpoints only.
