Intercultural communication means the communication between individuals with different culture background. There is a close relationship between intercultural communication and foreign language teaching. Teachers can impart the lingnistry of speciality, but what＇s the most important is to train students＇ ability to use language, that is, the ability to communicate. This paper mainly discusses the functions of language, the relationship between intercultural communication and English teaching and how to train students＇ ability of intercultural communication.
