对文革问题的众声喧语意味着"遗忘"已然成为中国知识分子生存和生命活动的精神困境之一。《梦中山河——文革忏悔录》以自叙传的形式、深刻的罪的自责及忏悔和亲切的信仰体验表明了中国已经出现了真正的奥古斯丁式的关于文革题材的《忏悔录》。其精神探索的最高峰在于将整个文革的时代特征总结为两个字"玩人"。"玩人"是"吃人"的具体性和特定性的体现,是"吃人"的时代衍生。

Among the different remarks on the Cultural Revolution, ＂forgetting＂ has been the predicament in which Chinese intellectuals are striving for survival and cultural activities. In Mountains and Rivers in the Dream Repentance of the Cultural Revolution, the author exposes his repentance for his own crime through his own experiences, which makes the book similar to the Repentance by Rousseau. The author makes the conclusion in his book that the whole period of the Cuhural Revolution is characterized by three words ＂playing with people＂, a term which is actually a modern derivative of ＂eating people＂.
