Yunnan Branch of the Southwest Service Regiment: Historical Accomplishments

西南服务团云南支队的同志们与军事部队、当地地下党员团结一起,在军事接管的基础上,迅速建立起云南省、地、县、区各级人民民主政权,彻底打碎了国民政府在云南的反动官僚机构;同时,通过征粮剿匪、土地改革等方式,巩固、建设了云南省人民政权,有力保障了新中国在西南边疆的统治,为云南省的社会主义革命和建设事业做出了不可磨灭的历史功勋。

Members of the Yunnan branch of the Southwest Service Regiment were rallied with the military units and the local underground CPC Communist party of China members. Based on military take-over, they soon set up people＇s governments on the provincial, prefectural, county and district levels and completely smashed KMT＇s Kuoming tang＇s bureaucracy in Yunnan. And meanwhile, they managed to collect provisions, put down bandits and launched agrarian reforms, so much so that they helped consolidate the people＇s polity in Yunnan Province and ensured New China＇s rule over the southwestern border land, thus making remarkable contributions to Yunnan＇s socialist construction.
