By Studying iranslation examples in iiterature and daity colloquialism,this paper explores the specific reasons for and hence the values of intentional mistranslation. On the basis of previous discussions on mistranslation, this paper argues that intentional mistranslation, in a certain background of language, culture and time, should be regarded as an appropriate way of translation ifa translator deliberately mistranslates certain linguistic items after careful consideration.
