This paper analyzes the development status and major technical characteristics of automatic container terminals in foreign countries, and presents the loading and unloading technological schemes for trackpattern new-type automatic container terminals independently developed in China in view of the inadequate operation efficiency and stability of the existing automatic terminals and the way to greatly enhance the efficiency, operating reliability, and economical efficiency of the operation system of automatic terminals.
