摘要
从译文回译性的角度分析了著名英国中医翻译专家魏迺杰(Nigel Wiseman)提出的系统中医术语翻译理论,发现魏氏大量使用的仿造法具有较好的回译性,其具体翻译方法的选择顺序,在回译性方面呈递减趋势。
Back-translation is a process in which a text which has been translated into a given language is retranslated into source language. It＇s an important tool for translation study. Double direction communication of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） calls for good back-translatability of the target text. The essay discusses the back-translatability of Nigel Wiseman＇ s Chinese medical terms＇ translation scheme based on integrated principles, and draws the conclusion that loan translation, which is principally used by Wiseman, is relatively easier to translate back, and the sequence of Wiseman＇s selections of translation method in his scheme corresponds to the descending order of back-translatability.
