Nonlinearity Optical Effect of GeS_2-Ga_2S_3-CdS Chalcogenide Glasses

摘要 采用传统的熔融-急冷法制备了GeS2-Ga2S3-CdS硫系玻璃。用飞秒OKE技术、Maker条纹法分别测试了室温下玻璃的超快三阶非线性光学效应和二阶非线性光学效应,分析了玻璃的组成、结构对玻璃的三阶非线性光学效应与二阶非线性光学效应的影响。结果表明:玻璃具有较强的超快三阶非线性光学效应,当玻璃中S—Ge、S—Ga键的数量最多,离子极化程度最大,电子云的变形程度最大时,具有最大的χ(3)值;电场-温度场极化的玻璃表现出明显的二阶非线性光学效应,当玻璃中定向排列的偶极子的数量最多和程度最大时,具有最大的χ(2)值。χ(2)和χ(3)之间不呈线性关系。 The GeS2-Ga2S3-CdS chalcogenide glasses were prepared by the conventional melt-quenching method. Utilizing the femtosecond time-resolved optical Kerr effect (OKE) technique and Maker fringe measurement, the third-order nonlinear optical properties and second-order nonlinear optical properties of these glasses together with their dependence upon the composition and microstructure were probed respectively. The main conclusions are as follows: the glasses have large and ultrafast thirdorder optical nonlinearity. Largest amount of S-Ge,S-Ga bonds, highest polarization of ions and distortion of electron cloud can induce largestХ^(3). Obvious second-order nonlinearity (SON) has been detected from thermally/electrically poled glasses. Most amount of reoriented dipoles with highest reorientation degree can achieve largest Х^(2). TheХ^(2) is not proportional toХ^(3).
