Folk sense is the important cultural connotation in the stories written by Wang Zengqi. Firstly, Wang has a psychologically sharp - cut folk stand and tense folk complex; secondly, in depicting the folk custom, he displays the original mode of the society the folk people live in ; thirdly, in depicting the characters of low social class, he displays the value, nature and spirit existed in that society; and fourthly, he stresses the strong primitive vigor of sexual life embedded in the folk culture.
