摘要
本文主要从两方面探讨语义联想关系在大学英语教学中的运用,首先教学实践证明语义联想关系可以帮助学生有效记忆单词。以相同关系、对立关系和内包关系为轴形成的联想关系,和由语素组成的语义联想关系在引导学生记忆单词时都取得了良好的效果;其次语义联想关系还有助于培养学生阅读中的生词词义猜测技巧。
The paper mainly discusses the application of semantic association in college English teaching. Firstly it has been proven by teaching practice that semantic association can help students memorize vocabulary effectively. Associations formed by identical, opposite, and hyponymy relation as well as associations composed by language elements work well in helping students memorize new words. Secondly, semantic associations will help develop students' skill in guessing word meaning when they are reading.
