Uncertainty evaluation of ash content measurement for purified terephthalic acid

The faetors affecting the uncertainty of ash content measurement were discussed for purified terephthalic acid （PTA）. By analyzing and quantifying the uncertainty components of the measurement results and calculating the Components＇ correlation, the standard uncertainty and extended uncertainty of ash content measurement were obtained for PTA. The results showed that the repetition of the measurement was the dominating factor causing the uncertainty. The extended uncertainty was 5.00mg/kg when the ash content in PTA was 10.44 mg/kg.
