盲人的眼晴——广州地区公共图书馆盲人服务实践与发展对策研究

Eyes of the Blind——The Service Practice and Development Strategies for the Blind in Public Libraries of Guangzhou

广州图书馆2001年成立了全国公共图书馆界首个盲人电子阅览室,并被盲人朋友亲切地称为"盲人的眼晴"。2008年,广州地区大部分区图书馆纷纷着手设立盲人电子阅览室,但由于起步较晚、配套环境有待完善,图书馆在盲人服务方面还存在较多的问题。可以从设立盲人专用计算机,加强盲人盲文阅读、计算机应用技术培训,根据通信行业标准改造网站,把方便盲人使用的朗读功能平台和访问界面纳入UOML标准等方面加以解决。

Guangzhou Library established the first electronic reading room for the blind of our country in 2001, which was cordially called the ＂eyes of the blind＂ by blind friends. Most district libraries of Guangzhou have started setting up the electronic reading room for the blind in 2008. Because of a late start and the matching environment to be perfect, libraries have many problems in serving the blind. However, the problems could be solved through setting the special-purpose computers the blind, strengthening the training of braille reading and computer application skills for the blind, upgrading the websites according to the telecommunications industry standards, and bringing the text-platform and access windows for convenience into the UOML standards.
