摘要 运用伯克的崇高美学理论,从厄舍古厦的环境、超自然力、人物形象等方面探讨爱伦.坡的哥特小说《厄舍古厦的倒塌》所孕育的崇高美学意境。 The Gothic novel The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe fully embodies his pursuit of the sublime and the ultimate concern for the significance of life. With the use of the theory of the sublime from Edmund Burke, this paper explores the sublime atmosphere hidden in the novel from three aspects the Usher house, supernatural force and the characters.
