Expression and Significance of Pleiotrophin in Oral Carcinoma

目的:研究多效生长因子(pleiotrophin,PTN)在口腔癌中的表达及其意义。方法:应用免疫组织化学、Western免疫印迹方法,对50例人口腔癌组织、30例良性肿瘤组织、30例正常口腔组织进行了PTN蛋白表达的研究。结果:阳性产物出现于癌细胞胞浆中,呈棕黄色颗粒,良性肿瘤组织和正常组织有微弱表达。口腔癌中PTN的表达明显高于对照组(P<0.01)。分类及分期观察,PTN蛋白表达量呈中强阳性者居多,无统计学意义。免疫组织化学结果与Western免疫印迹结果基本一致(P<0.05)。结论:PTN蛋白在口腔癌组织中高表达。

Objective： To study the expression and significance of pleiotrophin in oral carcinoma. Methods： Immunohistochemistry and Western - blotting analysis for PTN were performed on 50 cases of oral carcinoma, 30 cases of benign lesion and 30 cases of normal tissue. Results： Positive products（ - brown - yellow grains） lied in the cytoplasm and occasionally in the nucle us of cancer cells, cell nucleus occasionally. Benign tumors and normal tissues expressed faintly. The quantity of PTN in cancer was higher than the control group（ P 〈 0.01 ）. The expression of PTN protein was mid-strong positive in the progression of classification and stage, without statistical significance. The result of immunohistochemistry was same to the result of Western - blotting （ P 〈 0.05 ）. Conclusion ： The protein of PTN was overexpressed in oral carcinoma.
