A Folklore Analysis of the Marriage Custom of Sazhang(撒帐)

撒帐是我国民间婚礼中的一项传统习俗,它广泛流传于汉族和少数民族地区,至今已有两千多年的历史。撒帐仪式选用的撒帐物、撒帐的主持人和撒帐时吟唱的撒帐歌是撒帐仪式中具有一定象征意义及文化内涵的因素,对它们进行民俗学的考察,并深入分析这一仪式的社会功能,可以揭示这一看似微小的习俗能够广泛存在的深层原因。

For more than 2000 years, Sazhang, as a traditional custom in Chinese wedding, is popular a- mong Hart nationality and ethnic minorities. Things used in the Sazhang ceremony and the host and songs for this ritual are investigated. By making analysis on its social function, this article aims to reveal the underlying causes for its widespread existence.
