虚构人名的指称和涵义研究有重要的语言学、哲学和文学意义。本文运用两大主要名称理论,即簇摹状词理论和因果历史理论,分析虚构人名的指称及其获得,探讨各自的优势和缺陷,提出应把两种理论结合起来的整体观,并通过对虚构人名的语言学考察,重新探讨指称理论及其对哲学本体论和文学理论带来的新的启发。

The semantic study of the reference and sense of names of fictional characters is significant to linguistics,philosophy and literature.This paper presents a survey of some major studies,particularly the set description theory and the causal theory of names.Also discussed are their strengths and weaknesses.It is suggested that a holistic approach is possible by combining the set description theory with the causal theory of names.
