On the Customary Laws of the Ami in Taiwan

台湾阿美人习惯法皆属口耳相传、世代相袭的道德、习惯与禁忌。从维持生产秩序、保护人身安全、财产承继和婚姻家庭等四个方面,对阿美人习惯法的内容作一阐述,对其诉讼程序与刑罚种类作扼要说明。原始性和部落主义是阿美人习惯法的两大显著特征。

The customary laws of the Ami are all morals, customs and taboos which are handed down through generations in oral form. This article firstly expounds the customary laws in following as pects： production order maintaining, personal security protection, property inheritance as well as marriage and family life; and then gives a brief account of the lawsuit process and kinds of punishment; finally points out that primitiveness and tribalism are two main characteristics of the customary laws of the Arni.
