When people talk about musical dramas,they first think of the composer:the person who writes the music.But for any theatrical pre- sentation with music to be successful, tuneful melodies are not sufficient. Without a good book(i.e.,the script) that provides the framework for dra- matic development,you cannot cre- ate musical theatre that captures the audience's attention.Since the begin- ning of musical dramas,many of the classics are based on literary scripts. Some even adapt classic dramas and made them even more popular in the musical form.In that way,the book writer is an indispensable member of the creative team.
