The paper talks about the characteristics of the music class curriculum of Utah State University. The paper will provide with some enlightenment by comparing the implementation advantages of public elective music course of USU with the problems and deficiencies of public elective courses teaching adopted by common universities and colleges in China. Through the comparison, the paper tries to explore another way which fits our country＇s high education music teaching to facilitate the public elective courses teaching in China＇ s universities and colleges and to provide the use for reference.
