本文根据英语句子结构与表达功用之间的关系，探究和分析了英语句子结构“从低到高”的功用原则。研究结果表明：“从低到高”的功用原则与句子成分在阶层组织（hierarchical structure）上从上到下或从下到上的移位有密切的关系。

This paper, based on the relations between sentence structure and its expressive function, discusses and analyzes ＂From Low to High＂ Principle in English sentence structure. The result demonstrates that there is a close relation between ＂From Low to High＂ Principle and sentence dements shifted within high-to-low or low-to-high hierarchical structure.
