摘要
In the wake of the Wenchuan earthquake, Chinese religious organizations at all levels have been engaged in fund-raising campaigns, as well as praying for the souls of the dead and giving comfort to survivors in various ways. These religious bodies also sent volunteer religious staff to the quake-stricken areas, who would approach believers suffering psychological distress caused by the earthquake so as to provide consolation and spiritual encouragement. In addition, government departments in charge of religious affairs and.religious groups at all levels have allocated different funds for the rebuilding of religious venues, based on the degree of damage and have dispatched religious personnel to conduct normal religious activities, so that the material reconstruction of the ruins will happen in tandem with the spiritual and moral renewal of the disaster victims.
