侨批文化研究的兴起,成为当下潮学研究的热点。侨批业是基于特殊的华侨社会需要而引发的特殊服务行业。它产生于19世纪末叶华侨侨居海外逐渐众多之时,集商业贸易、金融货币、交通运输、人文道德、风土民情于一身,具有地域性、商业性和服务性,以及突出的信用性等特征。

The rise of overseas remittance culture research has become a hot spot in the Chao culture studies. The business of overseas remittance was a special service industry developed on the basis of the special needs of the overseas Chinese. It started at the end of the 19th century when the accumulation of the overseas Chinese people gathered. It integrated commerce and trading, finance and currency, traffic and transportation,humanities and morality,natural conditions and social customs. It has the features of regionality, commerce, service and prominent credit.
