论《中庸》“诚”说的转释

On the Interpretation of the Theory of "Cheng" in Zhong Yong

《中庸》作为儒家的重要典籍,历来受到当政者的重视,而"诚"又是其中一个极为重要的范畴,不同时期的注释者对其均有所阐发。他们的"诚"说虽源于《中庸》,但不止于《中庸》,而是表述了各自的治世理想。因之,《中庸》"诚"说在注释者的转释中渐失其原貌。

As an important Confucian canon, Zhong Yong had always been taken seriously by rulers of almost every dynasty, and ＂Cheng＂ is a very crucial concep in it. In the course of history, different interpreters in different periods had their own interpretations of it. Their theories of ＂Cheng＂ originated from the Zhong Yong, yet went farther than it and conveyed their own ideals of conducting state affairs. Therefore, the theory of ＂Cheng＂ in Zhong Yong gradually lost its original features in the interpretations of different interpreters.
