中国文学发展的规律是什么?——兼与《中国文学史新著》商榷

What is the Law of China's Literary Development——A Dialogue with A New Edition of China's Literary History

所谓中国"文学发展过程与人性发展同步"这一中国文学发展规律,实际上不过是对欧洲文学发展规律的套用。把"人性"仅仅归结为人的个性、人的个性的解放、个人意识、以自我利益为中心,等等,就把中国文学史上的一批优秀作品排除在外。把作家人性自由的表达和感情的浓烈度作为衡量作品艺术力量的标准,认为人性的发展制约美感的发展,都经不起中国文学实践的检验,理论上也站不住脚。中国文学发展有其特殊规律。

The so--called China＇s literary development law proposing ＂the process of literary development is in sync with human nature development＂, is just a derivation from European literary development law. Many great works in China＇s literary history will he excluded if ＂human nature＂ only refers to human being＇ character, liberation, individual consciousness and self interest--centeredness, etc. It is not in line with the real situation of China＇s literary development, and could not stand on its own if human nature＇s development is said to restrict esthetic devclopment. China＇s literary development has its own unique law.
