Qian Mu's Theory on Xinya Education

钱穆一生以教育为业,在香港创办了新亚书院,将他对高等教育的理念在新亚书院付诸实践。他提倡以人文主义为教育宗旨,沟通中西文化,正确处理校风与学风、求学与做人、学业与事业、事业与职业的关系。他提倡的通识教育被延用至今。钱穆对高等教育的深刻阐释为现代大学精神的培育留下了许多宝贵的启示。

Qian Mu devoted all his life to education cause. He established Xinya College in Hong Kong and put his education theory into practice in managing this college. He advocated humanistic education goal, and cultural exchange between China and the West. He also put forward several suggestions on dealing with the relation among the school development, pursuing of the study, cultivation of one＇s personality and one＇s career development.
