摘要
夸张是一种应用极为频繁的修辞格。尽管为了达到强调或滑稽效果有意言过其实,但是夸张手法的运用能更好地体现事物的本质,给人强烈印象,引起读者强烈共鸣、丰富的想象,使语言交际能够顺利进行下去以及在一定的语言环境中能达到幽默、讽刺甚至是反语的效果。
Hyperbole is a very frequently used rhetorical device in English. In spite of overstatement for emphasis or humor, employment of hyperbole can better reflect the nature of a thing, making a powerful impression, arousing readers＇ strong feelings and imagination, enabling people to go on with successful communication and leading to a humorous or ironic effect in a certain context.
