第22届亚洲开放大学年会于2008年10月在天津举行。本届年会的主题是"亚洲和世界开放远程教育的新进展、新趋势和新使命"。国内外远程教育学者围绕主题进行了深度探讨和经验交流,会议指出亚洲远程教育使用互联网面临新的挑战:跨国远程教育、大众学习模式、学习者特征变化、关注质量保证、新技术应用、新的学习理念与方法等。亚洲远程教育的发展趋势是:互联、合作、开放、拓展。

The 22nd Annual Convention of Asian Open Universities was held in Tianjin in October 2008.The theme of this convention is ″New Development,New Trends and New Missions of Open Distance Education,Asian and Global″.Open education scholars home and abroad made in-depth discussion and intercourse.New challenges that confront Asian distance education were pointed out ---Cross -border distance education,the mass learning mode,changes in learners' features,quality ensuring,application of new technology,new learning concepts and methods,etc.The Trend of Asian distance education is ″ Intercommunication,Cooperation,Openness and Expansion″.
