The Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the CPC and the establishment of Deng Xiaoping Theory

中共十一届三中全会是建国以来我党历史上具有深远意义的伟大转折,是重新探索中国社会主义建设道路的伟大起点,也是邓小平理论形成的历史起点。其所以如此,从根本上讲,就是因为这次全会形成了以邓小平为核心的第二代中央领导集体,坚持把马克思主义的普遍原理同中国的具体实际相结合,初步总结了建国以来社会主义实践的历史经验,重新确立了马克思主义的思想路线、政治路线和组织路线,作出了实行改革开放的伟大决策,坚持了四项基本原则并赋予其新的时代内容,并且重启了社会主义民主和法制建设的进程,作为邓小平理论核心内容的"一个中心、两个基本点"的思想开始形成。

The Third Plenary Session of the 1 lth Central Committee of the CPC is a great and far-reaching transition in our party history. It＇s not only the great starting point of re-exploring the socialist road with Chinese characteristics, but it＇s the his- torical starting point of the form of Deng Xiaoping Theory as well. In the final analysis, this plenary session formed the second generation of central collective leadership with comrade Deng Xiaoping at its core. It combined adhering to the Marxism＇ s general principle with adapting it to China＇ s concrete reality, summarized the historical experience of the socialist practice since founding of the nation, re-established the Marxism thought route, the political route and the organization route, adopted the policy of reform and opening up, adhered to the Four Cardinal Principles and entrust with its new time content, and the process of socialist democracy and legal system construction is restarted. ＂One central task and two basic points＂, which is Deng Xiaoping Theory central content started to form.
