西方主流语言思想对语言学研究的影响

Influence of Western Mainstream Language Ideologies on Linguistic Inquiry

通过回顾在西方语言学研究传统中先后出现的三种主导语言思想给语言学研究带来的积极和消极的影响,指出人们对语言本质的探索是在不断的否定中前进的,每种语言思想都促成了当时语言研究的辉煌,同时也暴露了其自身的问题,从而促使人们不断地展开新的研究。在中国语言学界建设"中国品牌"语言学理论体系的尝试中,人们或许能从西方语言思想的演变中获得些许启示。

By reviewing both the positive and negative influences of three mainstream language ideologies that were popu- lar in the history of linguistic inquiry, this paper argues that the inquiry into the nature of language is constantly advanced by minimizing the deficiency of the previous theories. Each language ideology discussed in this paper has given rise to the heyday of linguistic research in history. At the same time, when deficiencies or problems arose from the then dominant language ideology, more in-depth inquiries have been made to further our understanding of language. The evolvement of western language ideologies may provide some inspiration for the construction of Chinese-featured linguistic studies.
