In the development of electronic medical record （EMR） , paying great attention to the analysis and research of the data structure and storage of EMR will raise its whole quality level. From the data structure characteristics of hospitals, a preliminary investigation into the data structure and storage of EMR is made in this article. And the storage of EMRs based on XML tree structure in the relational data- base and native XML database is also compared and analyzed.
