摘要
近年来,互联网得到快速发展,新应用不断出现,很多研究机构都致力于研究对互联网实施监测和测量的技术。人们大多使用主动测量方法来监测网络的特性(如带宽、延迟和丢包率等),但是该方法本身会加重网络的负担。因此,需要在带宽效率和测量准确性之间进行权衡。针对该问题,本文首先提出基于网络编码的覆盖网络测量方法,接着对该方法进行了介绍,然后将它应用在真实网络PlanetLab上,实验结果表明将网络编码运用到覆盖网络的测量中,确实可以改善网络测量中带宽效率和测量准确性的权衡状况。
In recent years, with the rapid development of Internet, new applications emerge. Many research institutions are committed to the research of the Internet monitoring and measurement technologies. People mostly take active measurement methods to monitor the characteristics of the network (such as bandwidth, latency and packet loss rate, etc.), but the method will add burden on the network. Therefore, we need to make a trade-off between bandwidth efficiency and measurement accuracy. This paper first introduces Network Coding into network measurement to resolve the problems mentioned above, and then presents the measurement solution. Application of the above methods will be followed in real network |-PlanetLab, the result of the measurement shows that the method really keeps balanced between bandwidth efficiency and measurement accuracy.
